Rose Petals Falling!!

My climbing rose bushes are in their second season. When the buds are opening, the petals fall away after only a couple of days. I feed the roses regularly (iaw instructions) and I can't see any obvious pests. Any thoughts?

Some roses, esp highly scented ones don't last long - so I've read anyway.. But it's a possibility that you could have thrips, fungus or something else causing the damage. Thrips are a bugger tho, tiny bugs who seem to really love roses and the damage not always so obvious to start with - just little dots of colour loss on petals and leaves, or brown patches.
