Hey,

Been replacing a flat roof, that has been leaking many years, the beam supporting the roof that comes down at an again onto the wall has got so rotten the whole end just turned to dust.

In my very bad paint diagram, the area in yellow is disintegrated.

What is my best option? Do I sister a new section beside this one?

Any help would be great.

Cheers

The diagram shows a pitched roof, but yes you can sister a new piece to the old.
It would be wise to treat with wood preserver.

What do I treat the wood with?

Do I need to cut out the rotted wood?

Many Thanks
