Following a break in at my neighbours house the robbers wrecked the sliding sash window. So, said neighbour asked me how much it would cost to make a new one, from memory it was about 700 x 1100mm single glazed and softwood. I quoted £290 with locks fully fitted, got the job and all is we'll.

Today, a builder I sub to wanted a price for replacing 2 rotten sliding sashes single glazed three coats of paint etc fully fitted and overhaul the box, chop out the cill and replace etc.
I reckoned about £650 all in. After he stopped laughing and i exercised amazing resolve, I told I'd think about it?

So do you think £650 is to expensive?

The sashes are 700 x 1065 x 2, single glazing bar, single glazing. On the fourth floor.

Thanks in advance, chirpy

It's too cheap to go messing around with windows on the fourth floor.

Tell him you've thought about and double the price.
