I don't know where the numbers are, but the L-series is a good engine and you should get some reasonably life and performance out of it.
It is one of the earlier direct injection diesels though, so a little noisier than the commonrail modern stuff.

well bought it for £600 drove the 80 miles home with ease will look tomorrow at engine numbers. took dipstick out when running no bad on the pressure so thats a good sign plus it pulled really well sat at 80 all the way home.. seller assures me it has a later 02 plate engine in it
