Advise them to do more reading on Google and do their bloody job properly, and just because they have done work incorrectly elsewhere, you wont be accepting that shiit.

Cheers, getting a bit tired of catching problems rather than just being happy with how it's going up. I've attached a diagram of how it looks like they're continuing the wall above the steels, sorry my descriptions are pants.

Would you have that dpc taken out and replace again with the rip?

You've got an external wall becoming an inner wall there - with a passage for damp, and that needs to be dealt with by a vertical DPC. So then, the new inner skin needs to be jointed the the existing inner skin, not how that is drawn - as there will be noting to tie to.

Whether this is better being properly bonded rather than via starter ties will depend on the circumstances, but sometimes starters are not appropriate or desirable
