Hi everyone,

I'm wondering about doing a loft conversion slowly myself, as I'm being quoted 50-60k which seems so much more than when i got this done on my last house (18k).

Would i be able to get a builder to put in the RSJs do you think? That way i could build up a really solid floor myself and go from there onto the other work that's needed.

I thought i'd ask to see if anyone has done this? Whether the view is that builders would take on just this piece of the job?

Thanks, Dave

Depends how much you want them to do, literally nothing more than hoist the beam into position or supply the steel and all of the prep work etc or what.
