Rubbing up top coat of render, not smooth enough.

Internal top coat 10:2.5:1 sand cement lime, + plasticiser, everything is fine and finished with a sponge. I’ve seen render that was sooo smooth it looked nearly like plaster, but mine never rubbed up anywhere near that using a plastic float. Just didn’t get the ‘fat’ to get that finish. Is it in the mix and what mix please?
