Good afternoon all.
Location: Rainy Scotland (near Edinburgh)
I am trying to improve the back garden patio installing playground interconnected rubber tiles. The plan was digging 150mm to install the geotextile membrabe (non-woven) and build up from there the subbase of compacted type 1 (or type 2) stone.
The black rubber tiles will be installed and interconnected on the top of the type 1 (or Type 2) stone.
I have the following questions:
1) Do I need to install a water channel under the tiles to drain the water off the type 1 layer or the water channel will need to installed at the same level than the rubber tiles as it will not be much rain water passing through the water tile?
Is Type 1 stone suitable for the subbase or we can use Type 2? Is Type2 more suitable for draining rain water?
If the water managed to go through the rubber tiles. Would it be better for drainage the type 1 or type 2 stone to provide sufficient drain the rain water.
Thanks for the help and sharing your experience.
