Rugby World Cup

NZ usually pull it out of the bag in the last quarter.

Best quote from Eddie Jones was from before the game...

“The most crucial stage of this game is going to be the second 20 minutes of the second half, where the game’s going to be won or lost,” said Jones.
We’ve been particularly more diligent in selecting our team to take that into consideration. In fact we selected our finishing team first.”

Err I beg to differ, it was not a poor NZ performance.

I'm not wishing to detract from Eng's masterclass, but stats will show NZ missed a lot more tackles than usual. Especially for the Eng's try after only a couple of mins.

Or maybe England were better at avoiding being tackled than usual?

Had to laugh when the TV commentator said *One game too many for Eng*. They actually played one less game than most due to the typhoon.:eek:
Well done SA played to their strengths and scored a couple of great tries. Eng remained within one score for 60mins but lost all cohesion when Eddie Jones shifted all their backs around and fell apart for the last 20min.

Roll on the 6N :)

Bojo put the jinx on England...

“I watched the match against New Zealand with mounting awe, absolutely incredible passages of play by our team against that awesome All Blacks side and looking at what you can do.

“I absolutely know that you can bring back the William Webb Ellis cup from Japan in the course of the next few hours.

“Go for it England. You’ve got an amazing ability to win."

Brian Moore's response?

"Please f*** off."

We had our final against NZ and peaked.

We were out thought and out fought. Not even close. No shame in losing to S Africa who just aced their gameplan. It was weird watching knowing early on having that feeling today wasn't our day but oddly not being disheartened by that as we were beaten by the better side on the day.

At least Wales eventually found a crack in NZ's defence. :)

well beaten by a better side on the day, unfortunately I don't know enough about Rugby to know if England played poorly or whether SA made England look ordinary. The 2nd half was certainly more entertaining than the 1st half.
