Hello

Am i ok to run electric cables in the same trench as water and gas pipes, and if not were does it say not...
thanks

They can go in the same trench as long as you consider the following...

Water must be at a depth of 750mm-1350mm, gas and electric I believe are 450mm.

From a Water Regs position:
[Water Supply (water Fittings) Regulations 1999] schedule 2 para 4 (c)
"Every water fitting shall be so installed as to minimise the risk of permeation by, or deteriation from contact with, any substance which may cause contamination."

So you'll have to maintain a minimum sideways/diagonal radius of 350mm between Water and Gas unless protective measures are taken (Eg protectaline pipe or laid in copper with appropriate wrapping). Or lay it at 800mm with the gas 450mm on top.

Not sure if the Gas/Electric have other requirements.

Think A gas pipe should be more than 20-25mm away from an electrical socket ect unsure if this also applys to wiring.
