Recently wallpapered our bedroom. There were a few areas where nails were left from the old picture rail. I touched them in with some solvent based gloss paint... Except I missed one.

Any there is a small area about 3mm dis where the rust has bleed. Shall I just seal it with the gloss?

Will this effect the emulsion paper much?

You mean the paper is emulsioned over?

If so, you can make a bit of a hole, knock the nail in a bit (if you can't remove it) and then use an oil based rust killer paint on the remains, fill, emulsion, etc.

Should have really removed these nails rather than just putting gloss paint over them, but you probably know that now!

Sorry... That post was terrible. I meant to say that the paper will be emulsioned later. At the moment it isn't.

So I could still open up a little hole or touch it in.

Yes... Always wise after the event :(
