Rust on stainless steel

We have a fairly new stainless steel sink and draining board in the kitchen. We had a stupid dish rack on the draining board for storing dishes on before we got the new dishwasher, and the rack started going rusty at the bottom. That rush seems to have stained the stainless steel draining board and won't just wipe off. Any tips on how to get it off as I really don't want to replace the sink.

Thank you

Try some solvol. Don’t go mad. Use wire wool - stainless if you can get it (pan scourer)
The sink may be a brushed finish and you don’t want a shine to it.

CIF on a magic eraser
Also not all stainless steel is the same, and can still rust, all be it very very slowly. To test the quality of it see if a magnet stick to it, low quality stainless steel will attract a magnet. Good quality won't
