Hi,

I recently put up a door frame with nails, primed and glossed. A year on the nails have gone rusty and has shown through the paint. Is there anything i can do to stop this now and should there have been something i should have done in the first place. I have just finished another door frame using the same nails and want to know what to do before i paint.

Cheers

Tom

I used an oil based golss but just before i painted i wiped down with a damp sponge!! I've just seen acrylic primer online - just the ticket!

Thanks again chaps!

I think he meant, water based acrylic primer and polyfilla will cause rust.

Argh ok, i understand now. Is there a primer i can use on the nails before i paint?
