Rusting railings fix

Hello,

I have some fabricated window railings/ grilles on a holiday home.

I have been using Hammerite style paint which is rust resistant but the weldings on the ornate details aren't perfect and water is getting inside and causing rust deposits.

Is there a metal filler that can be painted on to seal the gaps, which can then be painted over again with Hammerite?

Or failing that any other recommended solution.

There are plenty of metal fillers on the market, as for painting I would remove any rust then give it all a sand then wipe over with a damp cloth with white spirits, prime any bare patches then undercoat the lot, seems like a lot of work but it will give a good base and much more protection
