A newly fitted S-bend compression waste trap for a bathroom basin is leaking. The centre join of the "S" is leaking.
Will remaking the join with PFTE tape fix this?
I was a bit suprised at the leak. Any compression waste joins I have made in the past have been water-tight, no problem. Maybe I over-tightened it?

Thanks
Mike

Might be a faulty trap or the rubber washer is not seated correctly. :(

I would have used a bottle trap for a basin. :D

Thanks, Bahco. I'll reassemble with PTFE tape and see how it goes.
The existing plumbing used an S-trap. It was easiest to just replace like for like.
