hi. great tips on previous posts. i seem to coming across alot of regular biolers on y and s plans which take an lifetime for the boiler to fire up. i noticed this with profiles. some take 4 mins before the fan kicks in.what would cause this delay. motorized valve moving very slow to make connection??

I doubt if it is the valve. Honeywell say that a mid-position valve should open port A in 18 seconds (motor) and close in 6 seconds (spring).

More likely that the boiler is going through a start-up routine. Check their installation manuals.

You could also time how long it takes for the valve to open.
 
Profiles have design "features" which make them slow, and slower as they get older!
When the pcb begins to fail they can have several "goes" at starting. If gas passes into the boiler each time, you then get an explosion. A landlord asked me recently to mend one which had made the case barrel shaped as a result. No chance!

Old motorised valves can open slowly too.
 
MoMo valves by their design will usually take longer also, but not 4 minutes.
