Hi all. Sabre HE, when on AUTO no ch no hw, but it works fine-ish when on manual. Just happened last week when a friend came back from holidays. When on AUTO, he can hear the fan going but no ignition, but when on manual on both ch and hw, it fires up even if with a bit of delay and sometimes he has to reset it. Hw takes a bit longer to heat up than before. Also when on manual on ch only, it does not fire up. I have not been there yet, but that is the infos he has given to me. Any idea of what i should be looking for? He had a problem last year which was sorted once he got the APS replaced. Thank you for your time.

It sounds like the auto manual thing is a red herring because you threw in at the end that it only works on hot water in any case, and that intermittent.

If it is only two years old and has a new air pressure switch a year ago then it is likely to just need a service. There might be a simple part to buy but it needs someone to check it out. It won't get better on it's own.

That it won't get better on its own, one does not need a degree in rocket science to come to that conclusion!! I just wanted some advice pointing me in the right direction in case somebody had already come across that sort of problems :-)

But you are asking for something a competent person would know. Since you are asking you aren't competent. since you aren't competent you need someone who is. since you need someone who is competent it needs a service.

your question can only be answered in layman's terms but there is not a layman's answer which will solve your problem.

Try hiting it like we used to hit old telly's that sometimes works.
