Hi
I've had a bit of plastering nightmare.
An area of wall was plastered, and to cut a long story short there was a water leak in the wall from some central heating pipes, this meant that the plaster took a very long time to dry out, and whilst it was drying out a lot of salts came through and have sat on the surface of the wall.
The water leak has been fixed, so I'm hoping that I don't have take all of the plaster off and redo it all.
But should I treat the wall before we paint it - I've seen a salt neutraliser mentioned on some forums.
Also how long should I leave it to drybefore painting? The wall was taken back to the brick (it's an internal wall in a victorian terrace) and then replastered (I think using hard wall and then skimmed). It's been 6 weeks since the leak was stopped.
Any help would be much appreciated.
