salty wall?

i have taken my kitchen wall back to brick and patched in with sand an cement in some parts due to water damage along time ago and lots of like fluffy salt on the surface.
i have made the repair and skimmed the lot, 7days later theres still parts that still hasnt dryed out and lots of salt appearing again can any1 advise me on what to do now to cure this

hi,if you have skimmed inside?the problem may lie outside,repointing maybe or damp in cavity check gutters,just a thought.
 
thanks for your reply the outside has already been rendered few years ago and the rising damp has been treated too so i dont no where its coming from?

If you say the damp problem has been sorted, then what you have is efflorescence/salts, coming through the new skim plaster, from the bricks. It might be a bit late now,,, unless you want to start again,, but if you take the wall/s right back to brick again,, give them a good clean down, and then "scratch coat" the wall/s, with a 4 to 1 mix, plastering sand and cement with a measured amount of combined "waterproofer/plasticiser" (important),,,, added to the mix,,, then you will be able to re-plaster without the problem of salts etc coming through the plaster.
