Just connect the grey and black together with jumper wire.

If the boiler isn't on then something wrong with one or more of the boiler connections - or the boiler.
 
Ok I will try that.
Definitely nothing wrong with the boiler, was working fine before I changed the thermostat and it’s working fine at the moment for the water
 
No, that's if you do as I suggest and the boiler doesn't come on.

If it does come on then problem with Salus.

How long have you waited before you decided it wasn't working?
With that boiler it goes thorough a 20 minute purge cycle when you power it up, so the heating will not come on until it has done that.

Are you able to return the thermostat and get a different one in case it’s faulty?
 
I guess I could but I don’t think it’s faulty as it’s all powering up and also receiving signal. I took it apart today and re wired it and reset everything and the boiler did kick in but went off again
