Same trowel for S&C render as multi ?

I have been teaching myself how to skim an interior wall using multi finish plaster recently and I now need to try some exterior rendering using sand and cement. I currently only have one trowel (a fairly expensive marshalltown finishing trowel) and was wondering if I can use the same one for rendering or will this trash it?

I wouldn't use a good plastering trowel for rendering,, no way. It would be so easy to damage the edge of the trowel. Keep your good trowel for plastering, and get another, less expensive trowel for rendering.
