Hi

My Samsung side by side fridge freezer seems to be producing ice non stop. We have now turned the ice off but the ice holder is completely full and we can't empty it because it is stuck in place by ice! How do we get this out without breaking it? And is there no mechanism which stops the machine producing more ice when it is full? Before we switched the ice off, we did keep hearing it whirring and making ice much more than previously, is something broken? We only really knew there was a problem when we opened the door one day and the freezer was iced up inside.

Can anyone help please?

Hello,

My parents had the same problem with their fridge freezer, the mechanism inside which normally stops the ice from being produced when it was full, had become jammed. The engineer said it was a known problem due to the wrong type of grease being used on the mechanism. Im not sure if he replaced the unit or just re-greased it but it has been working fine since.

Cheers,

Glyn
