i'm painting some dark cherry wood wardrobes with decorative grooving. I've used a base 'stain killer' paint and am at undercoat stage. Am sanding down, by hand, between each coat (which I hate) but however careful I am, the paint easily comes off any edges. The finished paint is to be cream colour and am concerned the dark wood colour will eventually 'come through' as I can't get a base to stay during the sanding process!

Why did you use a stin killer paint?..

It comes off the edges because there is less paint on them..

Give the edges an extra coat before you do the rest?

a sanding sponge/pad may do it, you can get them at any decorators mechant
