I'm stripping paint from doorframes to repaint them, and having some real problems getting into tiny corners and crannies. My belt sander is far too large, a detail sander is still too large. Currently the only thing i've found is using a thin chisel and carefully scraping paint out, it is a pain and very slow

A finger sander sounds like just what i need, i want to be able to penetrate into hard to reach places and sand out the paint quickly. But i can't seem to find one that would actually fit my needs, because they have guards on them. One random example is this i found on amazon

The thing belt is the perfect size, but that little knob in the middle, and the metal part at the start of the belt, mean that it's going to be held away from any surface i try to use it on by a few millimetres.

What i want is one where the edge of the belt is the very edge of the width of the machine. Or even letting the belt overhang a little would be good. Does such a thing exist? How do you guys sand tiny corners and crannies?

Heres an example of an area i'm trying to sand, part of a doorframe behind a rubber seal. I could and perhaps should remove the seal, but its not going to make a difference to the job, that paint is on a tiny bit of wood about 1.5cm wide and i want it stripped to the wood before i repaint it
