Not sure if this is 'technically' a household appliance but my Saniflo macerator died on me this morning.....
Luckily it was sink waste that poured out of the top of the unit!........the leak is coming from all around the seal where the 'lid' part joins to the base of the unit. Was making an odd noise. Any ideas much appreciated.
(Is this the most appropriate forum for this topic???)
Thanks

It's customary in circumstances such as these to do the following:

1. Ask you if the unit is still under warranty (usually two years);
2. Laugh. A lot. With you, not at you.
3. Pray for you and your family.

Is the electrical supply ok, has the fuse blown in the fcu? If yes, then possibly macerrator blade jammed up & motor stalled. If you ensure power is isolated & remove the lid then the blade sits on top of the motor in a plastic enclosure which you will be able to inspect for obstructions, foreign bodies etc. Have lots of old towels around for all the water etc.
