Hi Folks, Im finishing off a bathroom refit and about to do the flooring, T&G boards in good condition but not very flat so hardboard lining first, I plan to put down some type of cushionfloor/vinyl - to get the best edges around the basin/toilet etc (never looks good in my opinion) whats the view on flooring the room first & then fitting the sanitaryware? (the room is completely empty other than water feeds & waste outlets)

Any risks other than a pain in the but when it comes to a change of floor or access needed?

Ta Mike

IMHO its best to fit the vinyl flooring first. In addition to the benefits you mentioned, any fluid running down the sides of the sanitary ware will not end up under the vinyl. The vinyl will not tear due to the lack of any edges near to the porcelain. As you say, it will need to be lifted up when any new vinyl is laid, but thats the proper way to replace the vinyl anyway.
