Sap Problems

Just build a new deck using 1x6 pine deck board. Initial coat of paint applied without a problem. Before second coat applied, a couple of the boards have pine sap coming through them. Any suggestions as to how to get rid of this stuff - It's unsightly and quite sticky!

use one of Zinsser`s products ......one of your better exports to us in the U.K

Thanks for the info - that brand is available locally, but not sure which one I should use. Any suggestions?
