Hi,

Painted my wooden front door and storm doors with oil based satin paint. Does to it being a mixture of panels and decorative parts I used both a brush and a foam roller. Some parts are shinier than others - do I really need to do all of the final coat with a brush to get consistent results?

Can't say but using a water based satin at the moment and was considering using a roller for some parts of the doors and architrave so interested

I would say that laying off with a brush after rolling would help - on the front door and on T/riders doors the same if they are flush doors. With panelled doors and water based I had a better result doing 2 brushed out coats rather than the thicker coat the manufacturers said on the tin.
