Scantronic 9448+ alarm

Hi, friends Scantronic 9448+ alarm has gone wrong.When he arms the alarm the siren sounds and lights flash on the control board.
I have read some of the help pages here ,some of them suggest changing the battery however the control panel does not have a battery.
He has taken the strobe cover off and does not see any fuse either.
The system has not been serviced and is about 9 years old now and it has worked well .Any help appreciated .

the alarm must have a back up battery! if not, you must get one. with what you say about the problems, i would say the scan 9448 is faulty!

Thanks, he has now found the battery ,it looked nothing like he expected.
