Since I've now been forced to upgrade my phone line to BT Digital Voice my Scantronic 9800 with autodialler module no longer works.
I thought a good workaround botch might be to use an X-sense water leak detector which has 2 exposed pieces of wire which complete a circuit when covered water and transmits a message to my phone. My plan is to solder 2 wires from that to my alarm output. So I just need a way to complete the circuit between those 2 wires like a simple switch when the 9800 goes into an alarm condition to activate it as a remote signalling system! Can I connect to one of the outputs on the 9800 like OP1 and programme it to 'follow bell'? If so, where do I connect the second wire? Also, do I need to add in a relay or would the 9800 in bell follow mode provide a simple unpowered switch?
I must say that until BT screwed it up with their new digital phone system my Scantronic 9800 has worked 100% reliably for what must be 30 years or so!
