Hello,

Any idea why a toilet would develop a high pitched screaching noise as it nears refilling. The toilet fills from underneath, is flushed by a 2 part button on the top (regular / large flush) and is on a mains pressure system. It was installed 18 months ago and didn't make the noise then.

Thank you for all aopinions received.

18 months of wear+ tear  Very high mains pressure  . Highest I ever came across was in Dover

Thank you for thye reply.

Does that mean that I need to install a new toilet, perhaps one better suited to a mains pressure feed?

If so, any recommendations for the minimum standards / features necessary in the new toilet to prevent the problem recurring?

Thanks for your advice.

Ok thanks, I will look into that.

By the way, how urgent is the replacement job? Will the loo stop working?

Thanks again.
