Just had a new conservatory built, but the concrete floor is a bit bumpy.

(might not show up very well, but I'll give it a go anyway..)

I want to lay carpet. The carpet guy reckons I need screed. The plasterer reckons I need screed. Most references I've seen regarding screeding though say it needs to be about 50mm thick, which would see the screed flowing out of the doorway

Other option seems to be Asphalt, which the rest of my house was done with... but no one seems to have much knowledge about that...

Any ideas?

Cheers

The screed they are refering to is Latex Screed. This is self levelling and can be laid thinly, 3-5 mm. The carpet fitter should be able to do this for you at a reasonable cost.
