Hello all, I have a problem and i hope someone can help me.

I have had an extension done on my kitchen and the floor in the new part is about an inch lower than the old part. Also I used an SDS drill to remove the old tiles in the old part (i think i should have just tiled over them) which has left gauges in the floor.

How do i get this floor level as i have been reading and it seems that the difference is too little for screeding and too big for for self levelling compound.

Who do I get to do this? I dont want to do it myself as its a 30 square meter room (10mx3m) and i'm not very good at DIY. Is this a builders job or do you get a specialist screeder or someone else? looking in the yellow pages it comes under the "plastering and screeding" section but i dont think this is a plasterers job.

Thanks.

my first port of call would be to ask the builder, why he did not lay the sub slab low enough to be able to lay a decent thickness of screed. :?:
