Hi all,

My wife's wanting me to put up a basic media wall. It'll consist of some wall mounted Besta units at the bottom with a frame above them to support some acoustic panels.

I plan to make the frame from 3x2 and just wondered what everyone's go to screw and plug combo would be for this kind of work? Would be fixed directly to an external wall which is block with plasterboard on top. The frame won't be holding too much weight, just the acoustic panels.

I was thinking of partially threaded 5x100 screws and some 50mm plugs but not 100% sure. What's the ideal plug for say a 5mm screw?

Thanks!

There will probably be a gap between the back of the plasterboard and the block wall. The fixing used will depend on the size of that gap if any and the thickness and weight of the fixture . This YT video is a useful an introduction to fixing to or through plasterboard.
