Sealant around bath.

Hi

My bath has come away from the wall & I wanna renew the sealant.
The existing sealant is very thin. Can I just go over the old stuff with a thicker bead of new sealant? Or am I better gettin rid of the old stuff?
If so whats the best method to get rid of the old sealant?

you should make sure that the bath is stable (some put wooden blocks or cement underneath to prevent bath from moving) i would just pull the old sealant out. any bits that get stuck you can use this
