Hi all,

Just painted the walls around kitchen window and managed to get some on what appears to be silicone sealant on the window frame, i tried to pick away the sealent but its just making it look worse its a really shaggy line now.

So im thinking of putting some fresh silicone sealant all around the upvc window to make the paint look tidier, which sealent should i be using to do this?

Generally you can either use decorator's caulk (paintable), or silicon sealant (not paintable).

As Grenage suggests, caulk might be better but only if all of the surface/bead is going to be painted (otherwise it will discolour).

There are a number of products that are as flexible as silicone but are paintable. Like silicone, they can be cleaned.

Eg CT1, Everbuild PU40
