i have a concrete block wall to paint in sandtex white. never been painted before and i know its going to sook the paint in like a sponge.
i was going to seal it in unibond pva then paint but if that was an inside plaster wall id expect it to peel right off? what do you recommend?

Use a stabiliser.. I have used deep seal in the past, but regular stabilisers are sufficiant.

Bigshaggy.

Firstly steer well clear of pva.

A stabiliser is not the way to go on any form of sound masonry or any well established paint system.

Your choosen product is of the utmost quality, yet the correct approach should be undertaken.

Useing a stiff bristle brush [not wire]!! clean down the substrate, when ready to paint ease the first coat by adding no more than 10 to 15% water.

If you get this right one further coat may suffice, however another one wont hurt.
