We have double glazed windows in our house, but most of them, when closed, don't press up against the seals and you can hear the cold air rushing in.

Does anyone know of a solution to this? We were quoted £50 per window to get them fixed, and quite honestly, FTS, I'll do it myself.

I would assume that the hinges have simply slipped out of alignment.

So, o' wise DIY masters. What should I do (will try and get pics)

Sam.

If most / all the windows are having the same problem, is there a common issue : worn rubber, very old windows, er subsidence ?

I had two windows fixed recently and it cost £70 - one needed new hinges whilst the other simply needed the existing hinges to be adjusted. Why not try adjusting the hinges on one window and see how you get on ?
