I want to install a second TV ariel to run a feed into the bedroom. The main ariel is in the loft. My question is :
can I run a second cable off the main one without any problems. The main is ok giving a good picture on digital and (terrestial (apart from ch 5), but considering that both tellys will not be on at the same time I will not weaken the gain by running another tv off it, right?? The signal to the 2nd tv needs to be strong enough for digital reception too. We are close to the main transmitter (Winter Hill in Lancashire).

You don't need a second antenna. You need a splitter (not sure I'm allowed to advertise, but you can get them from Maplin, Wilkinson, Currys, Comet, Argos) and potentially an low noise amplifier (LNA). I'd suggest you get a splitter first they are only a few pounds anyway. If you get a good picture on both of them then stick with it! Otherwise you'll have to get a LNA as well.

Yes, a second socket will degrade your signal to BOTH tellies!
