When installing a double electrical socket into a stud wall, the left side (for example) of the metal box is screwed onto the left vertical timber stud.

Is this sufficient to hold the socket firmly once the plasterboard has been placed to face off the wall? Or should the other (right) side of the metal box also be attached by inserting a horizontal between it and the right vertical timber stud?

Thanks.

I personally dont do that sort of work, but what about a horizontal nogging between the studs and fixing the box via its top or bottom depending where the cables are

What is wrong with a dry lining box that almost everyone else uses?
