At the moment we have a couple of conifer trees blocking light into our front room. Im wanting to get rid of these and to a border of decorative stone around the front elevation of the house under the front room window. The idea is to put some sort of edging stone in seperating the grass and the stones.

Whats the best way to do this? Dig a small trench and concrete in the edging stone then weeds barrier the area for stones etc

Thanks

I would probably use concrete, though if there wasn't going to be any foot traffic over the edging, I might just lay it on sharp sand.
