fitting laminate flooring in my boys room this week. so beforehand i decided to nail down any lose or creaking floorboards. all went until i came to a slight lump on one ov the floorboards. and though to myself mmmmmm a nail should sort this little problem. no sooner had i hammerd the nail in i heard a dreaded hissing sound. PANIC !!! i ran down stairs threw everythin from under the sink out and turned the stop tap off. yes i hit a central heating pipe   and may i add, i hit it plum centre  all sorted now and flooring down  till my next diy task :P

I wouldn't worry because even the professionals do it. It's happened to me a couple of times.

I did the same at my previous address.

Putting in alarm cables, replaced landing floor. "Oh look, there's a nail sticking up" (on a board I hadn't touched!)

Bashed it in, put the carpet down and went out for a meal.

3 hours later, I return to find the hall a tad moist!!
