I have stripped down a basic single bathroom basin tap as the water flow was nearly non existant. I have cleaned it all out and all seems ok. However where the top part of the tap screws into the part which remained connected to the basin (the housing for a better word) when you turn the tap off the tap will continue to turn thus making the unit come back out of the housing. I did make sure the rubber o ring washer was still in place and usable. Is it just a case of doing it up tighter or should I use a liquid locking thread compound or something similar?

Thanks

Jeremy

When you took the tap head off, you must have next undone a nut for the spindle to be able to come out, is that tight enough?

No as it keeps coming undone! I could tighten it further, but very little I was just wandering if I should use some kind of lock thread for this.
