Hi, I can't turn off the water supply the stopcock has seized!
I tried wd40 on the off chance but it didn't work.

Any suggestions other than replacing with a new stopcock completely ;)

try getting a pair of grips on the tap head (the piece you grab hold of to turn) and tighten and loosen tighten and loosen, as slight as you can untill its closed fully, it may take five minutes but it works every time for me !!!

This happens sometimes because there are too many heavy handed gorillas who turn them hard against the stop instead of backing them off a fraction after opening.
And then the householder doesn't touch it again until years later, with predictable results.
If you can turn it just very slightly then start to work it back and to in small movements increasing in size and eventually it might turn properly and even close if you're lucky.
