Selling a house without an estate agent

Apparently, the banks involved have said it will be sorted out on Tuesday. Mind you, electronic transfers are fraught with human error. Get one digit wrong and the money goes into the wrong account. It's about time safeguards were put in place, like account name and number matching (they still use account numbers only) If names were used then the transaction would have been rejected straight away (hardly likely the account name would match the wrong account number) ;) ;)

So back to DIY selling - how do you as a private seller qualify a potential buyer from a financial point of view? because that is what an agent can do - if they're any good that is

Well with a complete DIY job ( Homemade FOR SALE sign in the garden) you couldn't.
However, if you use the websites quoted, they offer that service as part of the package.

The solicitor handles the financial transactions, and as JoinerJohn's da found out, they don't always get it right.
