Does X100 have some sludge-clearing properties? Recently flushed system until clear, added two X100, a month later re-drained as was getting sludge-type noises again and water was black. :-(

AFAIK it's just an inhibitor. There are other Sentinel products for cleaning, plenty of info on the web.

What type of flush and how in-depth? As above x100 doesn't have sludge clearing properties

Flushing the system could have loosened off any crud that was in the system. It can sometimes take a few cleans to get a system back to clear again if it was bad to start with. Depending on the age and material of the pipework the system could also be made up of non barrier pipe, which then means it could be a bit of a losing battle. How was it flushed, flow and return and through the rads both ways as well as the boiler?

Does the system have a mag filter and if so what's been caught up in that?
