not under any circumstances must you remove the fire and leave the boiler working. forget it.

can i install a combi, isolate the back boiler, and remove the fireplace?
Do i need to physically remove the boiler as well, or can it be left in the chimney breast and sealed in?

If you install boiler elsewhere then yeah the fire can be disconnected and taken away boiler has an over hang that would need cutting off . And it would only take you half hour to rip it all out if that and then if you ever decide in future to have a fire again then its no hassle
