im no good in the garden, but its gotta be done this year, i want to put paving slabs down for a shed and a path, some grass, some gravel, i was thinking of putting some gravel board down on edge, and making compartments, then putting some weedstopper sheet and then filling the compartments with whatever i decide to put in there..... ive no experience but all the time in the world........ will it work is my question....? im worried the gravel board will rot over time.

i'm not a pro, but i'd do as you suggested. Everything rots in time, so get pressure treated timber, or use reclaimed bricks, or whatever. The beds will support themselves and evolve over time....

You can get concrete gravel boards though..? might be worth looking at?

or sleepers?
