Unluckly once again today, got home from work to find that the fireplace installer had stuck the top mantle section (very top shelf bit) of my limestone fireplace surround upside down.

they adhesed the top mantle to the frame slab beneath but not the wall.

Can anyone think a way that i can seperate it, hopefully without major damage?

thank you.

Why not get the firm back to do the job properly ???

They've been paid already :(

I spoke to him over the phone, he said he would try pop back in on Monday, but it did sound as though there is little he can do now, either that or he just doesn't want to come back.

Depending on the cost of the job, I get the feeling this could end up in "Small Claims" Court
sounds as if He hasnt done the job properly and is obliged to put it right.

Fitting was about £250, fireplace was about £750.

Question is can it be put right without replacing anything.

Agree that it's the contractor's problem, not yours.
Give him an exact time that you expect him out on Monday and, if he doesn't turn up, tell him your next stop is the small claims court.
