No ryefield to be found in the building we're in, that feed was straight from the street, the cabinet where one was supposed to go just has an armoured supply cable on its way to the cabinet above.

You could have got marks like that from simply placing an actual 80 or 100amp fuse into a circuit with a fault. Thats why you have to "ram them home" quickly.
